located south of the country, in the extreme southwest of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. It borders the states of Guerrero to the west, Puebla to the northwest, Veracruz to the north and Chiapas to the east. To the south has almost 600 km of coastline on the Pacific Ocean. For its size, is the fifth largest country and occupies 4.8 percent of its total area. Has a rich multicultural composition where more than 16 ethnic groups. Like the other federal states, Oaxaca has a constitution, civil code, penal code and shield itself.
