futuristic cars

The headlights and tail lights are made of transparent tubes that make up the LED units. The interior features sports seats integrated into the structure of the cabin.

Secondly we have the Audi Calamaro. This design was created by a Hungarian student for thecompetition organized by the Porsche subsidiary in Hungary.

The futuristic concept is a mixture of a boat and a jet ski whose interior is equipped with the latest technology that our imagination can recreate.

You probably will not see this concept as part of the line of any reputable manufacturer in 50 years, however this type of design allows us to dream.

A tree grows in kenya

No one was more surprised on Friday to hear from the Norwegian Nobel Committee than Wangari Maathai, Kenya's assistant minister for the environment. She was holding a meeting with her constituents near Mt. Kenya when she got the news that she had just become the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her life-long commitment to the environment, democracy and human rights. Maathai celebrated by planting a tree.
In recognizing Maathai, the Nobel Committee is recognizing that Africa has been ignored for too long, and that the time had come to applaud the invaluable contribution of African women to their societies. Maathai, 64, has been Kenya's leading environmentalist for almost 30 years. She started the Green Belt Movement--a landmark environmental and human rights organization in Africa that has helped plant an estimated 30 million trees in a country now facing desertification, with only 2 percent forest cover remaining. While researching women's issues in the 1970s, Maathai found important links to the environment: malnutrition and lack of water, firewood and cash crops.
"I don't see a distinction between environmentalism and feminism," she said in an interview at the Fairview Hotel in Nairobi shortly after accepting her award. "It's difficult for me to differentiate whether I'm campaigning as a woman or just as a human being trying to ensure everyone gets their rights." Maathai's plant-a-tree movement was the spark that ignited a feminist movement throughout Africa, giving women a sense of accomplishment and self worth that wasn't previously part of the culture.

OWL

Where do they live?
The Barn and Short-Eared owls live in the southen states from the east coast to the west coast, and also in Mexico. Their nests are in trees, barns and caves. The Flammulated, Northern Pygmy, Western-Screech and Whiskered-Screech owls live in the western U.S. states, and as far north as the southern part of Canada, and as far south as Mexico.

What do they live?
Many owls feed mainly on furry animals such as mice, rats, moles, squirrels, rabbits, and even skunks.  They often swallow the smaller animals whole.

Owls also eat insects, worms,  spiders, frogs, lizards, and small birds. Owls can kill animals as large as they are or even larger.
In the world of the hunter...owls eat extremely well!!
The favorite food of North American owls are insects and rodents.
Since owls swallow prey whole, what it cannot digest, such as teeth, claws, and fur, it stores in its gizzard. (part of the owl's stomach)  Strong muscles roll the undigested pieces into small balls, called pellets.  The owl coughs this up.

Why might it be important to protect their habitats?

is important that we maintain the species we currently have in those territories

    the secret garden

    author:Frances Hodgson Burnett

descripcion: has no one left in the world when she arrives at Misselthwaite Manor, her mysterious uncle's enormous, drafty mansion looming on the edge of the moors. A cholera epidemic has ravaged the Indian Village in which she was born, killing both her parents and the "Ayah," or Indian servant, who cared for her. Not that being alone is new to her. Her socialite mother had no time between parties for Mary, and her father was both too ill and too occupied by his work to raise his daughter. Not long after coming to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, Mary discovers a walled garden, neglected and in ruins. Soon she meets her servant Martha's brother Dickon, a robust country boy nourished both by his mother's love and by the natural surrounding of the countryside; and her tyrannical cousin Colin, whose mother died giving birth to him. So traumatized was Archibald by the sudden death of his beloved wife Lily, that he effectively abandoned the infant Colin and hid the keys to the garden that she adored. His son has grown into a self-loathing hypochondriacal child whose tantrums strike fear into the hearts of servants. The lush garden is now overgrown and all are forbidden to enter it. No one can even remember where the door is, until a robin leads Mary to its hidden key. It is in the "secret garden" and with the help of Dickon, that Mary and Colin find the path to physical and spiritual health. Along the way the three children discover that in their imaginations, called "magic" by Colin, is the power to transform lives.

Helen Keller and Franklin Delano Roosevelt

    HELEN KELLER:
Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia, a small rural town in Alabama, USA. Your deafblindness was caused by a fever in February 1882 when she was only 19 months old. His inability to communicate in such an early stage of development was very traumatic for her and her family due to this was nearly impossible for a while.

For him to speak, Sullivan put Helen's hand in his throat so he could feel the vibrations created when communicating. Helen Sullivan was trying to form these same vibrations. This procedure was used to teach Helen to speak at a young age.

His speech, however, remained unclear. It was not until years later that, with the help of the technique of a voice teacher and support from Annie, Helen was finally able to speak clearly.

Daughter of Captain Arthur Henley Keller and Kate Adams Keller, Helen was born with full sight and hearing. Today the nature of his illness remains a mystery. Doctors at the time called it "brain fever" while today's doctors think may have been scarlet fever or meningitis.

    FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT:
Assuming the Presidency at the depth of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt helped the American people regain faith in themselves. He brought hope as he promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
Born in 1882 at Hyde Park, New York--now a national historic site--he attended Harvard University and Columbia Law School.

On St. Patrick's Day, 1905, he married Eleanor Roosevelt.
Following the example of his fifth cousin, President Theodore Roosevelt, whom he greatly admired, Franklin D. Roosevelt entered public service through politics, but as a Democrat. He won election to the New York Senate in 1910. President Wilson appointed him Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and he was the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 1920.
